This Lightweight Crochet Shawl has been so much fun to make. From the C2C mesh stitching to the creating the colourful poppy cluster, it has been a worthwhile project.

If you are familiar with any of the Corner to Corner Crochet patterns on this blog you may have read about my love for and fascination with the C2C technique and also seen the first C2C Mesh Shawl I designed.
This time around, I wanted to incorporate colours and flowers to create a tropic and summery vibe. I wanted the Poppy Cluster shawl to be the type of shawl you would like to with you everywhere.
This pattern is easy. You will be working more with the chart to make the body of the shawl, then a few rows for the trimming. If you are worried about colour changing and weaving in tails, the only thing I can tell you is to be patient and look at the end result while at it. Don’t you just love the Poppy Cluster Shawl in the photos?
Helpful Tips:
CHANGING COLOURS– when making the body of the shawl try working with same colours from two sides. If you must carry a colour along, it should be no more than through 4 blocks.
BLOCK! BLOCK! BLOCK!– The beauty and drape of this shawl is only going to be appreciated after it has been blocked. Those spacey and lacey designs need to be stretched.
If you do not have a blocking mat or pins to hold down the shawl, try wetting it the squeeze the water out, stretch it out to hang and dry.
