The Half My Heart Crochet Hotpad is dedicated to all mothers. In fact, it is a totally sentimental design and I chose to call it Half My Heart crochet hotpad for one reason- Mothers are amazing.

While I can’t truly quantify how much of my heart my mother has, I do know she has a HUUUUUGE chunk of it. She’s just really amazing and not just because she is my mother but because she has a great personality.
I slept with this idea in my mind, trying to figure out how to create the right ‘half heart’. Now while that may sound easy, it can be a challenge for most people when it comes to shaping crochet. So I made a half heart sketch and used it as a guide.
This hotpad was made in less than 2 hours (factoring in the pattern writing and errors and frogging and rewriting… you get the gist). So now that Mothers Day is around the corner, and you need a last minute handmade gift to give her, this hotpad may just be the thing.
And if you’re new to crochet, you can absolutely make this. I know I say ‘easy’ a lot, but truly this pattern is EASY. You could decide to make one half or both, take your pick.
There’s 2 sides to this pattern- the right half heart and the left half heart. The reason for this is so that the stitch rows will be the same. For instance, Row 1 on the left half heart is RS (right side), Row 1 on the right half heart is also RS- you get what I’m saying, right?
It’s ok if you sell items you made using LM patterns. And I’d really love it if you mentioned it was from LM.
And please, do not sell or mass produce LM patterns- (the only exception is if you are donating the handmade items to charity)
Thanks. You can read more on LM policy here.
