This designer focus is my way of paying respect to the ‘fantabulous’ designs and crochet designers out there who have been here before me, inspire me in some way or are just sharing their love of crochet.
Designed by the super skilled Kathy Lashley of Elk Studio Handcrafted Designs, I first saw the Dixie Charm Shawl two and a half years ago when I picked up crocheting again, and while I wasn’t interested in doing big projects yet, I was willing to try my hand at it. I started, but did not finish it because I ran out of yarn and abandoned it.
Every time I went into the craft closet, I’d see it and it seemed to be asking me when I would complete it. The opportunity came recently when I decided to give a special woman in my life a gift. I raced through the pattern from one evening to the next night and was quiet happy with myself afterward.
I particularly like this design because of its simplicity and elegance. Plus it’s not a hard project to do. Once you understand the first 5 rows, every other row becomes a repetition. For mine, I excluded the edging and just made the shawl as big as I wanted
Enough talking. Time to check out the Dixie Charm Shawl. Or just Save it for later on Pinterest.
