Still in the spirit of summer, I decided to make a sunglass glove by trying my hand at Tapestry crochet for the first time. It took a bit to get the hang of, but I’m so glad I tried.
I’m really loving this stitch technique and already have many more mapped out (all in my head of course. haha).
Tapestry crochet can sometimes be intimidating; as it was for me for a long time. “However, once you get the hang of the color changes, you realize that this type of crochet, which is based entirely on basic single crochet stitches, is actually really simple. You work with several different colors across each row to create beautiful graphic designs, producing work that seems to be complex, but in the end it’s not that hard at all.”– Red Heart yarn article. For more detailed information about Tapestry crochet, colour changes, etc. see this article on www.redheart.com
Of course, Tapestry crochet has evolved beyond just using single crochet stitches; you could use any stitch you desire.
So, in order to practice my tapestry skills further, I decided to make vertical and horizontal Sunglass gloves. The pattern does seem a bit repetitive, that’s because I wanted to make sure it is well written to guide those who will use the written pattern.
It is meant to be a snug fit, and should fit most sunglasses. Finished size for both is 6.4 inches tall by 2.8 inches wide.
You could Pin it for later.
It’s ok if you sell items you made using LM patterns. And I’d really love it if you mentioned it was from LM.
And please, do not sell or mass produce LM patterns- (the only exception is if you are donating the items made to charity)
Thanks. You can read more on LM policy here.
