For the longest time, I’ve been intimidated by amigurumi and it just never seemed like something I would design myself. This crochet snowman amigurumi is my first attempt at designing an amigurumi.

And, oh boy! are there many cute, adorable, fantastic amigurumi patterns out there.
If you’ve come across my post on the Hearty Giraffe I made a while back, I mentioned that crocheting amigurumi was not something I enjoyed making. Well, I will say for certain this snowman is an exception. In fact, I feel empowered and believe I can/will design more amigurumi patterns henceforth (is there a lesson here?).
It’s ok if you sell items you made using LM patterns. And I’d really love it if you mentioned it was from LM. And please, do not sell or mass produce LM patterns- (the only exception is if you are donating the items made to charity)
Thanks. You can read more on LM policy here.

Break yarn, weave in ends
On the body
– use the bottom part where you made stitches into the BLO to guide on what angle to sew the buttons. The start/end point of the BLO should be behind or beside where you sew the buttons
– leave 1 inch space each between buttons
– sew arms on same line with the top/first button
– leave 2 inches space each between the top button and either arms
– leave 1 inch space between the head and the arm, so the scarf can sit comfortably on the ‘neck’
On the head
– sew the nose first. When sewing it, align it on the same line as the buttons on the body
– Sew eyes with a 1.2 inches space between them
– for the lips/mouth, pass black yarn through the stitches
– before stuffing, tie all loose ends inside the head multiple times, just to ensure they’re well secured

What would be a good substitute yarn? I can't find the yarn that you used?
A good cotton yarn or cotton and acrylic blend, worsted weight yarn will do. Paintbox yarns has a good range https://bit.ly/32yvYKM
