Did you ever watch Mr Bean on tv? An English tv series about a grown guy with the juvenile tendencies? Then you would know Teddy- his BFF, Bear Friend Forever. He is the inspiration behind this Heart Teddy Amigurumi. And if you know Teddy, you would also know Lottie, his teddy girlfriend. Ha!

I used to watch the tv series when I was much younger, then after I had our sons I saw that there was a cartoon series- how awesome. I kinda prefer the cartoon to the real series. Simply because I can accept the delinquencies the cartoon Mr Bean displays, afterall, it’s just cartoon. And as you can see, I was inspired by the cartoon teddy to make a semblance.
Heart Teddy is my second Amigurumi design. I remember when I thought of making my first amigurumi how stressed I felt, thinking I would not be able to do it. But I went ahead and did it, and I’m glad I did not give up on it. Yea. I know, that was just a bunch of repititve jargon, haha.
Heart Teddy is going to be a favourite of your young ones. I made sure to make all the parts child friendly- no one needs a choking hazard here. And teddy is easy to carry along, just grab him or her by the neck, cuddle up and you’re good. For male teddy the bow tie is removable, so it poses no discomfort.
All the parts, except the eyes, are worked in a similar fashion and is fun to make. Mine is 9.5 inches from top of ear down.
Let’s begin!
